As the first release for 2008, I Records & Kevin Yost deliver the 3rd issue in the “The Jazz Influence” series. This highly successful concept has become a calling card for Yost and has featured some the label’s most sophisticated music in the past years. Now 2 years after the original release this third compilation has again been brought together to highlight various forms of the modern jazz-electronic fusion.
The tracking listing here features the long awaited Guy Monk single “More of You” and new Yost material including “Jazz Is” & “Intervention of One”. In addition new artists have been enlisted to give this release a distinctly more experimental vibe than the previous two. New producers, Love J and Three B deliver some powerful tracking. In addition jazz heads, Dream System and Sonny Jones give us new productions from their repertoire.
